JFK MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Dr. Manuel Ceja is the Medical Director at JFK Advanced Medical PC. Dr. Ceja has been a practicing physician for over 34 years and specializes in Internal Medicine, General Occupational Medicine,
and Aviation Medicine. He has served the JFK Airport community since 1996,
including a private practice in Howard Beach, NY.

Dr. Ceja is:

• an FAA Senior Aviation Medical Examiner since 1997 and has performed aviation medical exams for the Japanese Ministry of Transportation and the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA)

• a designated FAA Aviation Safety Counselor and is active with Aviation Safety

• a Critical Incident Stress Management team member in the New York Wing of the USAF

• knowledgeable in Travel Medicine, Immunizations and provides pre and post travel consultation to persons and groups seeking to obtain vaccinations for travel as well immigration status physicals

• a Certified Medical Review Officer, performs assessments of results and evaluations of Department of Transportation Urine Drug Test results

• a lecturer on drug and alcohol awareness to companies, employees and supervisors

• a Urine Drug Collector and Breath Alcohol Technician instructor

• active in Homeland Security and is a Major of the United States Air Force Auxiliary-Civil Air Patrol

• a New York City Group Deputy Commander & Medical Officer and Safety Officer

• a member of the FBI’s Infraguard program, monitoring potential threats to Homeland Security and is a graduate of the FBI’s Citizens Academy

• a member of the American College of Occupational & Environmental Medicine, the Aerospace Medical Association, the Medical Society of the State of New York, the International Society of Travel Medicine, the American Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene, and the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation.• a New York State Police Surgeon and a member of the New York City Medical Reserve Corps

• certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Core Disaster Life Support (CDLS), Basic Disaster Life Support (BDLS), Advanced Disaster Life Support (ADLS) and Individual and Group Critical Incident Stress Management.

• fluent in Spanish and also speaks Italian.
